Trinnov Presentations at CEDIA 2018

Contributing to CEDIA’s commitment to education, Trinnov’s CEO Arnaud Laborie and Home Theater design expert Tom Garrett will make a presentation on the design of speaker layouts that will work for all three of the Immersive Audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and DTS:X. This presentation, based on Trinnov’s extensive research into Immersive Audio, focuses on providing the best possible result regardless of format, and importantly, not just for a single sweet spot but for a wide listening area.

It is well known that Dolby, Auro-3D, and DTS all have widely differing views on where the loudspeakers should be located for optimal immersive audio reproduction. Resolving these apparent contradictions is challenging to say the least.

However, as Trinnov’s founders were among the earliest to study 3D Audio reproduction, they bring a depth of knowledge unmatched in the industry. In fact, Trinnov was founded to advance the idea of re-creating complex 3D sound fields, and Trinnov has supported all three Immersive Audio formats longer than anyone else.

The simple fact is that Trinnov has been working in this field since 2001, long before Dolby, Auro or DTS were thinking about 3D Audio. With nearly 50 patents in this and closely related fields, in addition to multiple published AES papers, Trinnov can speak from the perspective of long experience and solid science.

This presentation will be given during CEDIA Expo on Friday, September 7th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in Room 31A of the Convention Center.

Panel Discussion: The State of Home Cinema Today: Why 4K UHD Experiences are Not All the Same

Trinnov CEO Arnaud Laborie will also participate in a panel discussion dedicated to The State of Home Cinema Today. He will be joined by Andre Floyd of Sony and Cheena Srinivasan of Kaleidescape.

From the CEDIA course description:

Now that many people can capture and watch 4K videos on smartphones, what do people really understand about differences in what is called 4K video and quality home cinema?

Panelists will speak about how the resolution is only one measure of a high-quality cinema experience, enabling you to talk to your customers about it in simple terms from the source to the output continuum.

This panel discussion will take place on Thursday, September 6, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in room 7A of the Convention Center.
