To TV or Not to TV? Take rAVe’s Survey
Sometimes while working in the AV industry, it can be easy to forget that we aren’t just manufacturers, or integrators, or dealers, or distributors, or writers, or members of the press. We are so inundated with the technology that we study, develop, invent, or cover, we forget that there’s this whole other world outside of our 9-5s.
We forget that at the end of the day, when the computers are shut off and the office doors are locked, we, too, are consumers.
We consume the technology that we study, develop, invent, and cover.
But the fact of the matter remains, many of us that work within the audio visual industry actually consume the technology very differently at home than we do while we are at work.
And the fact of the matter remains, some of us may not even consume some of that technology at all.
The most common?? The TV.
Yeah, the home display. The television. That thing that we may or may not have hooked up at home, mounted on our wall, or sitting on an entertainment center. And then the question after that remains, is that television hooked up to a cable service? Or satellite service? Or any service at all?
It’s becoming more and more common for the consumer today to start cutting cable and going to strictly streaming methods like Netflix or Hulu Plus via a device like the Roku or Apple TV.
Well, as we were sitting around the office one day (some of the rAVe staff, that is) we were wondering if people who actually WORK in the AV industry are any different than general consumers.
So, we created this survey.
We want to know: Do you TV? Do you cable? Do you satellite? Do you stream?
Take our latest survey and let us know. Give us your feedback! We’re curious.
And you can bet that we’ll have an info graphic with all the results for you after the survey is over.
And as a thanks, we’re giving away an Apple TV!
Pretty awesome, huh?
