Three Weeks to CTS-D Success

colin-hasted-0715Meet Colin Hasted, CTS-D, System Specialist, Pure Audio Visual Ltd, the first person to pass the CTS-D exam at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2015 in Amsterdam.

Colin’s background was mainly in audio, and he decided to pursue the CTS-D and prepare for the exam to widen his knowledge base and fill in some blanks along the way.

“As any audiovisual designer will tell you, a vast expanse of knowledge across multiple disciplines is required to successfully design and integrate a modern AV system,” he says.

He decided to go for it and signed up for the exam in January, three weeks before ISE.

“I used the online AV design courses as a guide. The test question at the end of each topic gave a very quick indication of any areas of weakness that need further study,” Colin says.

He says the biggest benefit to taking InfoComm University’s design courses are the best practices and standards that can change a client conversation from “I think this is the best solution” to “this solution fits well because…” That difference gives the client reassurance that there are sound reasons for our approaches.
