THE #1 AV NEWS PUBLICATION. PERIOD.

They’ve Got AV In Kenya?

So, it’s Monday morning right now (Kenya is seven hours ahead of the rAVe HQ) and we are getting ready to head to the village. But I wanted to share something interesting from our day yesterday.

We headed to the village in the morning, and after a brief run-in with the police, we went to church. The church I went to in the village last year was very small, only about 20 people. This year, I went to a “larger” church of about 40 people, but this church was a more wealthy one with a generator, microphones and PA system.

They use Peavy and a brand I’ve never 00345_00186heard of. Now, the quality wasn’t exactly top notch, but it was really cool to see how they are beginning to implement technology in even the simplest of ways to reach more people.

There is even a church in the community called “Missions Church” that has begun a multi-site movement. They have 17 locations in and around the village and they are even church planting in Tanzania. All using a microphone, a generator, and a PA – and a traveling pastor. They don’t have video streaming quite yet.00345_00187

After church the village gathered for a 00345_00188crusade for which they brought out another PA, mics, and generator.

We are headed to the village for a work day now, but I thought you AV people would love to hear a little update.I am also posting updates on my personal blog http://www.themollybuckley.com.
