OK, I was at InfoComm with the rAVe crew, and I wore the da-glo shirt, and I’m proud of it.

It was a genuinely weird cultural experience for me, to be in a booth full of young people at a convention and have them all sit silently, messaging the world.. and each other.

But they’re enthusiastic, bright, and have an impact on the industry, and I’m proud to be one of the “elder statesmen” in the group.

They try to get me to “tweet,” I try to get them to write in complete sentences, we agree to disagree, and I enjoy it.

But THIS, seriously, is too much.

AV people DO NOT dance at tradeshows!

We smoke cigarettes. We complain about the load-in. We criticize the food.

This is another sign of something I’ve been saying a long, long time.

Long term exposure to Gary can be hazardous to your mental health.
