Terra Speakers expands facilities, capacity and workforce

terra-logoBrunswick, Maine – Terra Loudspeakers, the Maine-based premier US manufacturer of all-climate high fidelity loudspeakers, has expanded it manufacturing facility and adding staff to bolster its sales and marketing reach. To accommodate demand, the Brunswick-based company has doubled its production facilities and staff. After 15 years, the company is also updating its products and expanding into new markets.

“We have been operating as a small but strong manufacturing operation for 15 years, so it feels great to expand our facilities to accommodate increasing demand,” said Terra President James Banfield. “We ship our speakers to Maine, the Caribbean, to Israel—everywhere. That global demand is helping us grow our teams and facilities.”

The transition marks another good news story for US/Maine-based manufacturing. In December, it was reported that L.L. Bean had saw record sales of their signature Maine-manufactured boots. K’Nex announced that they would move their manufacture of Lincoln Logs from China to Maine.

The expansion comes as Terra expands its CAMM Series—its line of commercial interior loudspeakers—to new markets. The line has been installed in over 2,500 locations, including houses of worship, restaurants, and the NYPD headquarters.

“The expansion of the CAMM Series is especially exciting,” said Banfield. “We are starting to see them installed in more restaurants and corporate spaces, and they have been installed at St. Peter the Apostle, so the voice of Pope Francis will be projected from them. Not bad for a company based in Maine.”

Terra, founded in 1999, specializes in all-climate high performance enclosure and flush mount speakers. Every Terra product is manufactured in Maine and is sold only through residential and commercial installation professionals. With a corporate history that directly links back to the R.T. Bozak Mfg. Company, Terra’s products are highly regarded by integration professionals as sounding terrific and withstanding the rigors of all-climate exposure.
