TASCAM’s new BD-MP4K is a professional-grade Blu-ray/media/network player for 4K/UHD resolution. The BD-MP4K is designed for commercial installations and touring applications requiring 4K (3840 x 2160) image quality and up to 7.1 surround sound.

Requiring only one height unit in the rack, the BD-MP4K saves space by eliminating the need for discrete audio/video playback devices in an installation. It accepts a broad range of media and file formats from discs (Blu-ray, DVD, CD), USB flash devices, SD cards or even network shares on a NAS or remote server through Gigabit Ethernet.

For integrated media systems, the BD-MP4K offers both RS-232C and IP network connectivity. The unit’s RS-232C port enables two-way control between devices with status feedback, while Gigabit Ethernet simplifies integration into larger systems with mutual control between components. In addition to remote operation, all playback functions can be accessed locally from the front panel. There are also separate lock features for panel, tray and IR remote control to prevent accidental changes or non-authorized use. And a power-on playback feature enables content to automatically begin playing immediately on powering up the system.

The Tascam BD-MP4K will be available in January 2021.
