Tascam introduced the DA-3000SD, a two-channel DSD/PCM Master Recorder and AD/DA Converter. Designed for recording, mastering, archiving and monitoring, the company says the DA-3000SD can capture audio at 192 kHz for PCM as well as 2.8 MHz and 5.6 MHz for DSD. Multiple units can be synchronized for both recording and playback, creating a DSD multitrack environment. By cascading eight DA-3000SDs, users can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously.

Tascam says the DA-3000SD also facilitates monitoring with dedicated volume control. When used as an AD/DA converter, users benefit from two galvanically isolated BurrBrown converters on the input stage and a dual monaural configuration with two high-quality circuits on the outputs, ensuring minimum interference between channels.

In addition, Tascam says all stages of the audio circuitry are balanced to minimize noise on both the input and output paths. And thanks to a TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator), the DA-3000SD’s clock generator provides ±1 ppm accuracy for digital audio processing with no jitter.

The company also says the new Tascam Master Recorder is equipped with inputs and outputs terminals: Analog I/O via XLR and RCA, PCM digital through SPDIF, RCA coaxial and AES/EBU connectors and DSD digital via SDIF-3 BNC connectors. There is also a dedicated USB keyboard port for folder/file renaming and external control. Wireless remote control is possible using the optional Tascam RC-10 remote control.
