TAD Debuts New TAD-ME1TX Evolution Series Home Speakers
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories has introduced the TAD-ME1TX bookshelf speaker system, the latest addition to its Evolution Series. Replacing the TAD-ME1, the ME1TX features an updated tweeter in the Coherent Source Transducer (CST) driver with a beryllium diaphragm made using TAD’s vapor-deposition technique. The speaker is available in classic black and a new silver white finish.
The ME1TX incorporates TAD’s CST driver, which controls the directivity of the midrange and tweeter over a wide frequency range. The midrange cone guides the tweeter’s output to align phase and directivity in the crossover region, allowing the CST driver alone to cover 420 Hz to 60 kHz with a smooth attenuation characteristic across all frequencies.
The speaker’s tweeter uses a rigid 25 mm beryllium diaphragm, produced with TAD’s vapor deposition technique. TAD’s Harmonized Synthetic Diaphragm Optimum Method (HSDOM) helps control diaphragm vibrations and piston motion, enabling precise high-frequency reproduction up to 60 kHz.
