Stewart Filmscreen will introduce its new LuminEsse at CEDIA – a fixed frame wallscreen system to the custom AV installation market. The LuminEsse fixed frame front projection wall screen has been sold through their commercial AV group for almost a year, but has not yet been shown to the residential AV market. Using an edgeless design (think iPhone), Luminesce has an interesting look aesthetically, whether the screen is in use or not. An edgeless design gives the screen a ‘floating image’ effect when in use, and when the projector is off, Stewart believes that the screen itself blends into the surrounding décor, like a piece of art. With a 3/8-inch thin bezel, LuminEsse is available in most of Stewart Filmscreen’s 4K+ rated front projection screen materials, allowing integrators to specify the appropriate screen material for the application.
Material options include their FireHawk G4, GrayHawk RS G4, StudioTek 130, and others. The LuminEsse front projection wallscreen features an optional LED backlighting kit to make viewing more comfortable. The LED lighting acts as bias lighting, relaxing the iris of the eye and causing less strain during extended viewing. When the screen is on, the multicolored perimeter lighting enriches onscreen content; when off, the lighting can be used to set the mood. The LuminEsse rigid front projection screen system uses Stewart’s wall mount system, making screen installation inexpensive, simple, and fast. It is available in sizes up to 121 inches (diagonal) in 16:9 format and up to 151 inches (diagonal) in 2.35:1 configuration.
