Spinitar has just announced “A Virtual Day of Giving” to help support cancer research at the City of Hope. As a private, not-for-profit research center — City of Hope uses science combined with compassionate care to support the fight against cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

The annual in-person golf tournament helps AV industry professionals give back to the City of Hope, but Spinitar will be holding the event virtually on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.

This year’s program will feature silent auction winner announcements, a virtual short-game clinic from LGPA Hall of Famer Amy Alcott, an appearance by Andy Buckley from “The Office,” and a message and research update from City of Hope, and much more.

Over the past five years, Spinitar and its AV industry partners have raised more than $400,000 to help fund cancer research and other related initiatives. The City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. It has been ranked among the “Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report for over a decade.

The City of Hope has performed over 15,000 bone marrow and stem cell transplants with unparalleled survival rates for 13 consecutive years. Its researchers focus on harnessing the body’s natural defenses to fight cancer through an approach known as “immunotherapy.”

If you’d like to get involved with the program, you can register for the event online. You can also bid on a selection of outstanding silent auction items to help support the cause.
