Sound Control Technologies has released the USB-AMV adapter, a plug-and-play signal converter that combines HDMI and USB into a single USB-C output with DisplayPort Alt Mode and audio support.
Designed to address compatibility challenges in hybrid meeting environments, the USB-AMV enables integration between legacy two-cable HDMI/USB systems and modern AV devices that rely on a single USB-C port. These include newer platforms such as Cisco’s Codec EQ and Room Bar Pro, Neat Bar Gen 2, and Logitech MeetUp 2.
While most modern laptops already support DP Alt Mode over USB-C, AV endpoints have been slower to adopt the standard due to development costs and compatibility hurdles. SCT’s adapter provides a streamlined solution for bridging the gap, particularly in BYOD and BYOM applications where clean signal delivery and simplicity are critical.
The USB-AMV supports full-bandwidth AV signal transfer with uncompressed video and audio. It requires no external power or programming and is compatible with a wide range of DP Alt Mode-capable codecs and video bars.
