Sony Electronics today at CEDIA announced the launch of three new home cinema projector models. The new VPL-VW995ES laser projector is equipped with an innovative All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens, which was introduced in 2012 with Sony’s first 4K home projector, the VPL-VW1000ES, and is currently found in Sony’s flagship consumer projector, the VPL-VW5000ES. The ARC-F lens provides the best focus and resolution across the entire the screen with the new Digital Focus Optimizer function.
Sony’s new projectors provide consumers options with the entry-level VW295ES, mid-tier VW665ES and premium VW995ES. All three projectors come with 4K Motionflow technology, which displays smoother and clearer motion by using extra frames to reduce blur, making these projectors perfect for fast moving scenes such as sporting events.
The three new models announced are:
- VPL-VW995ES — Sony’s premium 4K laser light source projector with All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens, an 18-piece all glass lens that ensures high precision in every corner of the image. The VPL-VW995ES is 2,200 lumens.
- VPL-VW695ES — Sony’s new step-up 4K model comes with Picture Position Memory, 16:9 and Cinemascope. The VPL-VW695ES is 1,800 lumens.
- VPL-VW295ES — a 4K HDR projector at an affordable price point. The VPL-VW285ES is 1,500 lumens.
Both the VPL-VW695ES and the VPL-VW295ES are compact with 2.06 zoom and wide lens shift. All three of these new projectors have been certified for the IMAX Enhanced program This new certification and licensing program combines Sony’s premium 4K HDR home cinema projectors with IMAX digitally re-mastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technologies.
The VPL-VW295ES projector is $4,999.99, and the VPL-VW695ES projector is $9,999.99 and will be available in the USA and Canada starting in October 2018. The VPL-VW995ES projector is $34,999.99 and will be available in November 2018. All of them are here.
