Sony Electronics VPL FHZ85 and VPL FHZ80Sony Electronics recently released its two newest WUXGA 3LCD laser projectors, the VPL-FHZ85 and VPL-FHZ80. The new projectors combine installation flexibility and updated operational capabilities for a wide range of corporate, education, faith and esports applications. The new projectors are planned to be available in January 2022.

The VPL-FHZ85 offers 7,300 lumens (8,000 lumens center) and the VPL-FHZ80 offers 6,000 lumens (6,500 lumens center). Both projectors incorporate Sony’s Reality Creation real-time signal processing, mapping and analysis technology and support 4K60P input for compatibility with 4K video sources. The VPL-FHZ85’s size and weight make it the smallest and lightest in the mid-range projector class.

The projectors also feature Intelligent Settings that offer optimization based on the usage environment. The customized Bright View functionality enables colors to maintain their contrast. The new Ambiance feature automatically measures the room’s brightness using an ambient light sensor and calibrates the Bright View, color gain and Reality Creation settings accordingly. The new models also offer an automated filter cleaning system and cooling system to ensure long-term operation.

The compact projectors offer a vertical lens shift of 70%. They also feature a USB power supply for wireless presentations, auto power on capabilities and an auto input selection. A data cloning feature allows users to copy a projector’s settings onto a USB drive for easy replication to additional projectors.
