Gdynia Maritime University in Poland has outfitted its new Sports and Recreation Centre (SRC) with Sony BRAVIA professional displays as part of a broader effort to enhance educational and recreational facilities for students and the local community.

The modern complex, also open to residents of the Tricity area, includes a multi-use sports hall, climbing wall, gym and several conference and meeting spaces. The SRC was designed to offer both athletic and academic functionality, supported by an integrated audiovisual system.

The sports hall can be divided into three separate courts for simultaneous games, and a climbing wall has been installed with safety measures. The VIP room — used for pre-match briefings, meetings and event rentals — is equipped with projectors, ceiling-mounted audio systems and Sony BRAVIA BZ40H displays.

The BRAVIA monitors, installed by integrator Eurotrend Systemy Audiowizualne, were selected for their 4K resolution, Full Array LED backlighting and HDR compatibility. Sony’s X1 processor and 4K X-Reality PRO technology allow lower-resolution content to be upscaled in real time. The displays also include built-in X-Balanced speakers.

“Sony is all about quality and reliability. Another benefit is the warranty with a swap option, which can be extended to 5 years,” said Paweł Musiałowicz, commercial consultant at Eurotrend Systemy Audiowizualne. “This gives customers a sense of security. As integrators, we also appreciate the ease of integrating the devices with the control system.”

The facility uses monitors in multiple ways. In the VIP room, displays show live camera feeds from the adjacent sports hall during events or serve as digital signage when meetings are not taking place. An 85-inch display in the conference room supports wireless video conferencing and is managed by a central control system. In the gym area, monitors are used for sports-themed digital signage and include a wireless feature that lets users select content from their personal devices.

“We are grateful that Gdynia Maritime University is utilising Sony Bravia in their bid to make a more comfortable and enjoyable environments for their students,” said Adam Dover, senior corporate and trade marketing manager at Sony Europe. “Each element of these displays are optimised in a way to provide the ultimate viewing experience, and we are glad Eurotrend Systemy Audiowizualne has recognised this and opted to use the Bravia displays for this installation.”
