Sony Details New 32” 4K Monitor for Operating Rooms
Sony announced a 32” 4K resolution Mini-LED-lit monitor, the LMD-32M1MD, designed for medical applications including Local Dimming Technology (Backlight Master Drive) since it incorporates backlighting via mini-LEDs, increasing the contrast ration to up to 1,000,000:1. By independently controlling the LED backlighting sources in light and dark zones of the image, the LMD-32M1MD achieves significantly improved black reproduction and a peak brightness exceeding 1,850 cd/m².
In brightly lit operating rooms, the LMD-32M1MD minimizes screen reflection using Sony’s Anti-Reflection Technology that combines two reflection suppression technologies: Low Reflection and Anti-Glare surface treatment. This combination reduces the amount of reflected light and diffuses incoming light, resulting in extremely high contrast images with lifelike color reproduction.
Equipped with LCD and signal processing technology conforming to ITU-R recommendation BT.2020, the LMD-32M1MD achieves a wide color gamut. This enables superior color reproduction, resulting in more realistic visualization of surgical images. This emphasis on visual quality makes the LMD-32M1MD the ideal candidate for all medical interventions, from complex invasive procedures to more routine checkups.
The LMD-32M1MD inputs include 12G-SDI, HDMI, and Display Port.
