CEDIA 2017, San Diego, CA (September 4, 2017)  – Origin Acoustics, a world leader in architectural audio is proud to announce their first offerings in the dedicated soundbar category. The company has already seen great success with their Composer Collection of in-wall speakers for use as left, center and right channels in home theater systems, however the request for surface mounted soundbars has been substantial.

The first model, in what will become a full series, is a single channel LCR with dual 3 ½-inch fiberglass woofers on both sides of one of Origin’s patented 1-inch DPSD tweeters. The 16-inch wide, extruded aluminum enclosure can reside on the wall or on a stand. Three individual speakers can be used as a soundbar for LCR channels and can be placed in a line beneath the display or as LCR’s when placed beside and below the display based on the customer’s preference.

The second model is a single 42-inch wide soundbar housed in extruded aluminum containing all three front channels. The center channel section offers the same driver compliment as the LCR. The left and right channels have a single 3 ½-inch woofer and a DPSD™ tweeter. Again, the speaker can be stand or wall mounted.

Origin believes their superior execution of the soundbar design will set their versions apart from competitor’s offerings. As with their entire catalog, the prime focus is on sound quality. Their experience with designing compact drivers and the use of their patented DPSD™ tweeter are just two of several elements that combine to paint an impressive sonic picture.

Both models are passive and will perform optimally when driven with 80-100 watts RMS.

Both models will ship in Q4 of this year. MSRP is $299 for the LCR and $699 for the soundbar.
