New Digital Tourism Experience Transforms Travel in Sexten, Italy
The Tourism Association of Sexten has partnered with Hamburg-based interactive technology firm eyefactive to launch a new digital tourism experience, transforming traditional sightseeing into an immersive, touch-driven journey.
At the heart of the project is a 118-inch multitouch video wall powered by eyefactive’s proprietary touchscreen software. Installed in a central location, the wall serves as an interactive hub for exploring Sexten’s cultural and natural offerings in a playful, intuitive and multilingual way.
“Our goal was to create something that entertains, informs and inspires,” said a spokesperson for the Tourism Association of Sexten. “With eyefactive’s technology, we’ve achieved an innovative experience that truly resonates with our visitors.”
The platform features a vibrant panoramic menu and seasonal themes, allowing users to explore Sexten through videos, images, text and interactive content. Standout features include:
- Drag-and-drop tools — For example, dragging a skier icon onto a digital slope reveals activity information.
- Matrix View — An animated gallery showcasing local personalities and biographies.
- Interactive timeline — Visitors can swipe through key historical milestones.
- 3D model view — Users can rotate and zoom in on Sexten’s landscape and hiking trails.
- Gamified content — Real-time quizzes and smartphone-integrated video puzzles combine education with entertainment.
The installation supports multiple languages and is designed for accessibility, welcoming a diverse audience. The content is fully adaptable by season, enhancing engagement for repeat visitors.
The system runs on eyefactive’s MultiTouch AppStore, which allows for easy customization and fast deployment across locations. The software supports flexible layout, content and design configurations to meet the specific needs of destinations like Sexten.
This initiative marks a milestone in digital signage and destination marketing in the Alps, blending tradition with innovation to offer an unforgettable visitor experience.
