The SDVoE Alliance announced it has added two new education tracks to the SDVoE Academy: the Video Basics Certification and the Networking Basics Certification. Both courses are eligible for CTS Renewal Units (RUs), giving AV professionals additional opportunities to advance their skills and maintain their certifications.
“Our goal with the SDVoE Academy has always been to empower audiovisual professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed,” said Stephane Tremblay, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “These new certification tracks make critical video and networking concepts accessible to everyone, bridging the gap between AV and IT and ensuring our community is prepared for the challenges of converged environments.”
The Video Basics Certification provides an introduction to video fundamentals, including video distribution over Ethernet, key terminology, and real-world applications. The Networking Basics Certification covers Ethernet, IP addressing, switching, and other core concepts needed for AV-over-IP system design and support.
Both certifications are aimed at professionals seeking to build or strengthen foundational knowledge in order to apply it to modern AV system design, deployment and support.
