Screen Innovations is now shipping its KAOS Outdoor High-Wind Motorized Shades, a system designed for commercial outdoor spaces prone to heavy wind and frequent use.

KAOS, which uses the company’s patented V-Screen Retention Shade System, is engineered to maintain screen tension in challenging environments. The system supports vinyl and hurricane-rated fabrics up to 24 feet wide and is intended for hospitality venues, restaurants, and other high-traffic commercial settings.

The shades are designed to help expand usable outdoor space while keeping out dust, pollen, insects, and other environmental elements. According to the company, KAOS can be installed in about half the time of traditional outdoor shading systems. The design includes a quick clip tube mounting mechanism and a V-Screen wheel system that uses Teflon-coated constant-force springs for silent operation and increased flexibility during setup.

Unlike magnetic tension systems, the V-Screen design allows more play during installation while maintaining screen tension in windy conditions.

The system is compatible with motors from Screen Innovations or Somfy. Integrators can pair KAOS with control systems including Bond Bridge Pro or the SI Ecosystem for automation and remote operation.
