My scavenger hunt was a success.

I received a box of Cat5e cable from Windy City Wire in Booth 3287. They showed me how their wire is marked with ascending and descending footage, so I was able to pull 300 feet easily, thanks to their rack pack spooling technology! Look for the associated video that shows that product. Thanks, guys!

I was able to hammer Platinum Tools (pun intended) into providing Mod Plugs. With the help of Bob at Rescue One, an integrator here in Orlando, the wire was terminated, and I was given a nice lesson on spooling up wire. Platinum then gave me some amazing Bongo Ties to secure my 300 foot coil for transport, (check those out at booth 2880).  Before I left, they tested my cable for continuity, for correct pin-out, and verified the 299 foot length with the tool as well. (Of course there are videos of all this too so no one can claim shenanigans).

With that, the only thing left is the test! We’ll see who shows up, who passes, who fails, and who makes an excuse.  The usual suspects have been invited as well as a few newbies and underdogs. It should be fun!
