Savant Systems announced it has acquired J Geiger Shading, a window treatment company that designs and delivers architecturally conscious shading. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We continually look for ways to expand and enhance our offering to bring more value to our dealers and their customers,” said Bob Madonna, Savant Systems CEO. “Adding J Geiger to our portfolio emphasizes our commitment to providing best-in-class lighting and energy solutions across the entire smart home category today and into the future.”

Since 2011, J Geiger has delivered shading systems that are “thoughtfully designed” and provide a “sleek, minimalistic look that accents a home’s architecture instead of hiding it.” The company says its versatile hardware options conceal unsightly wires and screws for a streamlined look that blends with the décor and complements the growing demand for window walls, floor-to-ceiling corner windows and more.

Over the last six years, the teams at Savant and J Geiger say they have formed a close partnership, bringing a new category of exposed roller-shades to market through the custom integration channel as well as launching new category-defining products, such as quick-install Inception shades. The companies say J Geiger’s design approach and craftsmanship “aligns perfectly with Savant’s ability to deliver the best possible smart home experience, including the Savant app’s Daylight Mode, designed to seamlessly blend natural and artificial lighting.”

In addition to rounding out its lighting portfolio, J Geiger says its shades bolster Savant’s portfolio of energy and climate solutions that can help existing and future homes become more energy efficient. The ability to control heat with proper shading plays a significant role in reducing energy use, particularly in warmer geographies around the globe.

The companies say all Savant-authorized integrators will continue to have access to J Geiger shades, with a growing portfolio of motors, Inception Shade options and more to be announced this quarter. All current J Geiger customers will also continue to have access, receiving the same level of sales and support they have come to expect.
