RTI will feature control and AV distribution solutions for residential and resimercial projects in booth 16049 at CEDIA Expo 2022. The company will unveil its brand-new KX4 touch panel with a built-in processor for easy and intuitive single-room control, plus RTI Music streaming and Video over IP, all unified by the new Integration Designer 11 control application programming software.

“We’re excited about connecting with integrators at CEDIA and demonstrating the RTI solutions that solve their pain points and create opportunities for their businesses,” said RTI Head of Global Marketing Bill Hensley. “We invite everyone to see first-hand the new Integration Designer 11, with the new ‘Coral’ interface and a suite of new tools that deliver the fastest custom installation ever. We emphasize custom because no one does custom like RTI. Check out our training on Friday, where we’ll show you how. And for anyone doing conference rooms, classrooms, or other single-room resimercial projects, the new KX4 touchpanel with built-in control processor is a solution that will create big opportunities to grow their business.”

Taking center stage is RTI’s Integration Designer 11 programming software, designed to enable installers to achieve faster, more-efficient installations with all the advanced customization for which RTI is renowned. It features the all-new “Coral” template, with pre-configured home pages, swappable backgrounds, customizable scroll bars across the touchscreens, and new fonts — all with auto-programming that adds efficiency to every project. One example of this added efficiency is the built-in driver library, which saves time on every project by enabling integrators to find all drivers without leaving the software and searching on a separate driver site. And more than ever before, RTI programming is easily reusable, saving integrators even more time.

RTI’s KX4 touch panel will make its industry debut at CEDIA Expo. Shipping Nov. 1, the new touch panel features a built-in processor to simplify single-room resimercial and commercial installations, and offers the on-wall control and processing power required to control multiple devices. It boasts a 4-inch high-resolution capacitive touch display with five configurable hard-buttons that can be customized with RTI’s Laser Shark engraving. The built-in control processor delivers robust capabilities to maximize integration with connected devices, including support for two-way drivers, the RTiPanel Mobile App, and can be used as either a standalone processor or a secondary processor in larger configurations. Back-panel connections enable direct control of connected devices via IR, IP, and two RS-232 ports, and include six voltage sense ports with sense-event capabilities and four relays for control via contact closure.

Integrators will have the chance to experience the award-winning RTI Music and the MS-3 and MS-1 Music Streamers in action. The RTI Music platform provides an entirely seamless streaming experience within any RTI system, eliminating the need — for example — to exit the control app to search for music and access a playlist. RTI Music and Music Streamers are designed with the integrator in mind. The single-stream and three-stream options enable dealers to deliver the right number of streams for every project.

When used with RTI audio distribution, multiple chassis can be combined to greatly expand the number of concurrent streams. Integration Designer will automatically discover the connected Music Streamers, while the configuration utility makes it simple to set up homeowners’ music accounts. RTI Music integrates with various of streaming services, including Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM, iHeart, TuneIn, and an AirPlay option that enables Apple Music and Amazon Music. Newly added services include BBC Sounds and Qobuz. It also integrates with commercial music streaming service providers SiriusXM for Business and SoundMachine, which enables recurring monthly revenue options featuring Sound Machine’s fully licensed, cloud-based music service for businesses. Together as a service, this solution enables RTI dealers to offer and monetize fully licensed music services (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN, RE-SOUND, and Global Music Rights) in restaurants, bars, hotels, and other commercial applications.

RTI Video over IP allows integrators to distribute 4K UHD video over a 1GB network switch and can be installed in minutes, scaled to a large number of endpoints, and controlled natively within the RTI control environment. For the user, everything in the system is conveniently displayed on an RTI touchpanel, remote, or mobile device with a video preview, making it easy to align any source with any display. At the heart of the platform is the VIP-UHD-CTRL control module, which combines Integration Designer integration with IR, RS-232, or TCP/IP control and a wizard-based interface for fast and automated system configuration. Advanced signal management provides independent routing of IR, RS-232, USB/KVM, audio, and video signals, while two RJ-45 LAN connections bridge the main and VIP networks to increase performance and eliminate the need for a VLAN. Multiple displays can easily be combined into video walls of any size using the video wall function.

With a 60-Hz refresh rate and support for 4K resolution, the platform’s VIP-UHD-TX transmitter and VIP-UHD-RX receiver provide exceptional video quality, using virtually lossless compression technology to deliver signals up to 328 feet (100 meters). HDCP 2.2 compliance with advanced EDID management eliminates copy-protected black screens when connecting HDMI sources, while built-in scaling lets each screen in a network display its full resolution instead of being limited by the lower resolution of legacy displays. The transmitter and receiver feature analog audio embedding and breakout support for all known HDMI audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-HD Master Audio® transmission. To minimize cable clutter, the VIP-UHD-CTRL, VIP-UHD-TX, and VIP-UHD-RX can be powered by power over Ethernet (PoE), while up to four transmitters or receivers can be mounted using the 2RU RM-4VIP2 rack-mount adaptor shelf, which includes all necessary mounting hardware.

RTI will host the “Fastest Custom Installation Ever” manufacturer’s training on Friday, Sept. 30, in room C147 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The session will show how installers can achieve faster, more-efficient installations for projects of all sizes using Integration Designer 11. The class will demonstrate programming a single-room system in real time, highlighting the auto-programming and other time-saving performance tools of Integration Designer 11. There will also be a Q&A and a chance to win a single-room control system complete with an RTI Music Streamer.
