RF Venue Releases Firmware v3.2 for Spectrum Recorder With Expanded Scanning and Faster Workflow

RF Venue’s Spectrum Recorder, now enhanced across the board with Firmware v3.2, provides continuous, directly accessible RF spectrum data for analysis
RF Venue announced the release of Firmware v3.2 for its Spectrum Recorder, introducing upgrades designed to make RF spectrum monitoring faster and more efficient. The free firmware enhances performance, adds advanced data integration options and streamlines usability for system designers and technicians.
Spectrum Recorder is a portable RF environment scanner used to capture, store and analyze spectrum data for wireless microphone and in-ear monitor systems. The device helps AV integrators and engineers identify interference, configure channels and maintain system stability in venues and installations.
Firmware v3.2 expands the scanning range to 15 MHz–2700 MHz and adds user-defined start, stop and step sizes for more precise sweeps. A new web-based interface enables scan results to be reviewed in as little as 10 seconds, while streamlined controls simplify navigation. Users can now download scan data directly from the device, removing the need for a USB drive.
The firmware also introduces an open API for integration with third-party software such as SoundBase, while maintaining compatibility with RF Venue’s Wireless System Builder and manufacturer tools like Shure Wireless Workbench, Sennheiser Wireless System Manager and Audio-Technica Wireless Manager.
According to RF Venue, the update delivers faster data access, improved visualization and greater flexibility for complex RF environments. The company says users will benefit from reduced setup time and more efficient workflow integration across multiple monitoring platforms.
The update also strengthens Spectrum Recorder’s role as a troubleshooting and testing tool for AV integrators. Its plug-and-play operation allows immediate use on power-up, and a 24-hour scan mode supports detailed, time-stamped data logging to detect intermittent RF issues. Remote data retrieval enables off-site analysis, reducing the need for technicians to remain on location.
Firmware v3.2 is available now as a free download for all Spectrum Recorder users. The release includes a video tutorial to guide installation, and the Spectrum Recorder hardware remains in stock and shipping.
