RF Venue Intros Compact Spectrum Recorder
RF Venue has introduced Spectrum Recorder, a compact and portable RF spectrum scanner designed for monitoring and optimizing wireless microphone and in-ear monitor (IEM) systems. The device captures RF activity in the 400-700 MHz band, storing data as time-stamped CSV files that can be accessed via USB or a local network.
Spectrum Recorder can connect directly to a wireless microphone antenna system to capture real-time RF data for analysis and logging. It also includes a whip antenna for site surveys before installation or load-in. The unit is battery-ready and can be powered by common mobile power banks. For added flexibility, it supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing deployment with a single Ethernet connection. Multiple Spectrum Recorders can be networked to monitor RF activity across different rooms, buildings, or studios.
Captured data can be uploaded to RF Venue’s free Wireless System Builder tool for system design and frequency coordination or imported into third-party software such as Shure’s Wireless Workbench, Sennheiser’s Wireless System Manager, and Audio-Technica’s Wireless Manager. No additional hardware, software installation, or cloud subscription is required.
Spectrum Recorder is available for $799.
