Red Dot Digital Media, AIM Sports Group Launch Interactive Vertical Jump Measurement System

Red Dot Digital Media has partnered with AIM Sports Group to design and deploy an interactive system that digitally measures athletes’ vertical jump and automatically integrates results into AIM Sports Group’s newly launched AIM+ platform.
The system debuted at the SoCal Cup Showcase, a national boys volleyball tournament operated by AIM Sports Group. Athletes participating in the activation were able to measure their vertical jump, view real-time leaderboards and compare their results with those of professional athletes. Each jump was logged into AIM+, updating the athlete’s digital profile with verified performance data and tournament highlights.
AIM Sports Group developed AIM+ to bring AI-driven analytics and digital engagement into youth sports. The vertical jump activation was designed to modernize a measurement process that has traditionally relied on manual systems while also increasing athlete and spectator engagement during tournament play.
“With no existing blueprint for this type of digital-forward solution, Red Dot Digital Media embraced the challenge and delivered beyond our expectations,” said John Gallegos, founder and CEO of AIM Sports Group. “This project redefined how we capture performance metrics for AIM+ and created an engaging experience for our athletes and attendees.”

Red Dot Digital Media was tasked with designing, building and testing the system in less than a month. The solution needed to be accurate, cost-conscious and durable enough to withstand continuous use by athletes throughout the event.
The finished system features a custom-built vertical jump meter anchored by a 55-inch interactive touchscreen mounted on a truss-style stand. Before each attempt, an attendant enters the athlete’s information and standing reach into an iPad interface, which connects wirelessly to a BrightSign media player. When the athlete jumps and touches the screen, the system instantly calculates and displays the vertical leap using on-screen graphics.
Following each jump, the display transitions to a live leaderboard showing rankings by age division. Top-10 performances remain visible until surpassed. The leaderboard also includes jump data from professional athletes to provide benchmarks for comparison. When idle, the display cycles through sponsor messaging and promotional content.
All results are uploaded to AIM+, allowing athletes to access their data after the event. The system also incorporates sport-specific visual references, such as volleyball net heights and a basketball rim, to help athletes contextualize their performance.
According to the companies, the activation quickly became one of the most popular features of the SoCal Cup Showcase. AIM Sports Group reported that AIM+ sign-ups exceeded initial goals by 184%, driven by athlete participation in the vertical jump experience.
The project serves as a proof of concept for how interactive, data-driven technology can change the way performance metrics are captured and shared in youth sports.
