Red Carpet Home Cinema Debuts System for Same-Day (as Theater) In-Home Movie Delivery
If you’re willing to pay $1,500 to $3,000 per movie, you can now rent a movie the SAME DAY it appears in a movie theater, thanks to Red Carpet Home Cinema. That’s right, if you don’t want to pack up the car and head over to your local mall to watch Elton John’s new Rocketman Bio-pic on May 31st when it debuts, you can get it streamed to your home for somewhere a little short of $3,000. If you can afford it, why not?
Red Carpet Home Cinema was started by Ticketmaster found, Fred Rosen, and former Warner Bros Exec, Dan Fellman, and so far they’ve partnered with Warner, Paramount, Disney, 20th Centry Fox, Lionsgate and Annapurna to release as many movies as possible in the home on the same day they appear in the theater. But, missing is Sony and Universal.
Here’s the story from the New York Times on Red Carpet Home Cinema and their plan! It’s worth the read.
