“The Digital Screenmedia Association (DSA) Industry Excellence Awards honors the best self-service, digital signage and mobile technology deployments across all vertical market segments,” says the DSA website.
Kayye was selected as a judge for the awards along with 32 other judges from across the AV industry. Judges selected vary from end users, network operators, consultants, agencies and industry press.
“All entries for the awards are split up among the judges based on expertise so that no one judge has too many entries to handle,” says DSA’s David Drain.
“I am honored to be a judge in this year’s awards. I have a passion for the digital signage market that is both professional and personal,” says Kayye. “Not only do I write about digital signage systems for rAVe, but I also teach about it in my New Media Technology course at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.”
The categories for this year’s awards are:
- Digital Signage
- Self-Service / Interactive Kiosk
- Digital Out-of-Home Campaign
- Financial Services
- Restaurant/Food Service
- Other (industry not listed above)
Kayye also believes that while the digital signage industry is growing, that the public view of it will shift in the years to come. Kayye asserted, “You know what I believe the digital signage market will be called in five years? The advertising industry.”
Winners will be announced at The Digital Screenmedia Association Party on Wednesday, March 28 at The City Club of San Francisco. Tickets for the event go on sale February 29 and will be limited to 250 people.
