Rants and rAVes — Episode 507: An Extron Vector 4K Scaling Podcast: Everything You Should Know

Gary Kayye's Rants and rAVesGary was joined by Extron’s VP or Product Development, Dave Pincek, who explains what their Vector 4K Scaling is and why you should care. Although 4K scaling is new, scaling isn’t new to Extron. And, it’s Dave explains it’s future-ready as the chipset, according to Extron, is the industry’s only 4K scaler capable of scaling 4K resolutions up @60Hz 10-bit color at 4:4:4 color subsampling. To Extron, this is a big deal as they had to design a scaling engine chipset of their own to accomplish this as none of the 3rd-party (or OEM) chipsets on the market could do it – and, apparently, still can’t. So, if you;re doing 4K, are going to build systems with 4K or want to understand why 4K is more than a resolution, this is an educational podcast you’ll love.
