Radio Active Designs Unveils TX-8 Wireless Antenna Combiner

phpB30UU6PMLincoln, NE (June 2015) — Radio Active Designs, maker of the UV-1G wireless intercom system that includes belt packs (RAD packs) that operate in the VHF frequency range, has introduced the TX-8 wireless system antenna combiner.

The TX-8 can be used on the transmit side of the UV-1G as well as with any UHF in-ear monitoring (IEM) system. In fact, it allows the connection of up to eight UHF transmitters to one antenna. Advanced active-linear design reduces intermodulation products to exceptionally low levels to minimize interference while providing compatibility with all forms of modulation, including FM, AM, SSB, ENB, as well as a variety of digital forms, including FSK, and MIMO.

“The new TX-8 delivers a convenient way to streamline wireless system configurations not just with our own equipment, but with other gear that may be essential to a project,” notes James Stoffo, chief technology officer, Radio Active Designs. “As a result of this consolidation, it enhances performance, simplifies operation, and saves on cost — all at the same time.”

Individual channel indicators on the TX-8 front panel show RF activity and amplifier faults. An antenna fault indicator warns of excessive antenna VSWR. Output power is selectable to 50, 100 or 250 mW, independent of input power level.

In addition, the TX-8 incorporates RF power regulation that insures constant, pre-determined output from IEM and RF PL devices. And, each of the TX-8’s inputs are outfitted with individual RF power switches.

The TX-8 offers modular design housed in a steel 1RU package engineered to handle the rigors of live applications. A built-in power supply provides exceptional reliability as well as clean operation. And, an intelligent rear-panel layout simplifies system connections and reduces installation time.
