Both the PureLink UX-8800 and UX-4400 (8×8 and 4×4) 4K HDMI switchers support HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0b. A SmartHost Premium license is included with each switch. Also coming soon is PureLink’s HCE II extender, an HDMI over HDBaseT transmitter and receiver package that transmits 4K up to 70 meters over a single CAT cable.
This is an interesting partnership as they both needed each other to compete with the likes of Extron, Crestron, Kramer and AMX — all of whom have both control and video switching. However, they integration of each others’ control protocol is the key here. If Purelink only just sells Savant their switchers, etc., this will NOT work. If they integrate a plug-and-play style communications protocol, this could be a powerful combination. But, that’s a big if.
