PPDS Intros Android-Based SoC Phillips E-Line Series of Touch Displays for Education at ISE 2022

Philips E Line University ClassroomPPDS (also known as Philips Digital Signage), just announced a new lineup of interactive touch displays for education, launching the brand-new Android SoC Philips E-Line series. Unveiled at ISE 2022 in Barcelona (Philips Booth 3Q600), the Phillips E-Line is PPDS’ most complete SoC (system on a chip) education display range to date. It’s aimed at both K-12 and higher ed.

The Philips E-Line is available in 65”, 75” and 86” sizes across two model categories (and a variety of budgets). It incorporates the latest education software (including cloud) and hybrid capabilities from PPDS’ partner, i3Technologies (i3LEARNHUB).

All six models offer on-screen writing and drawing experiences and this can be achieved using your hands, or a passive or active pen. Additionally, a traditional mouse and keyboard can be connected.

With collaboration and engagement key to any successful teaching and learning environment, up to 64 students are able to securely connect and access the Philips E-Line at the same time, from their own seats using their own personal (BYOD) or provided device (running on ChromeOS, macOS, Windows, iOS or Android).

According to some estimates, during the height of the pandemic, over 850 million students worldwide – roughly half of the world’s population – were forced to stay away from schools, either due to closures or voluntary isolation. With absences from the classroom, the risks of students falling behind or failing to meet their potential are increased. With Philips E-Line, students absent from class will still be able to remotely log in and become actively involved. With the I3LEARNHUB, entire lesson plans can easily be created and shared between students and even other colleagues around the world, with the i3 platform helping to connect the teaching community and share best practices for more engaging and inspiring teaching.

Running on Android (BDL3052E Android 8.0, BDL4052E Android 10) Philips E-Line displays can be customized to meet the exact educational requirements, with the ability to add preferred third party apps without restriction, plus the option for additional solutions to be added, increasing the use and benefits of the display further. Examples can include the mounting of digital cameras – such as those from PPDS’ strategic partner, Logitech – opening up new opportunities for video conferencing with guests or even fellow students; sensors, such as the PPDS Air Quality Sensor for safer and cleaner learning environments, plus scheduling tools, CMS and more.
