Fine Pixel Pitch Video Walls Setting a New Standard in Visual Performance and Durability
Planar will demonstrate its widest selection of high performance ultra-fine pitch LED video walls for indoor applications with the industry-leading Planar DirectLight family, showcasing unrivaled deployment versatility and the company’s ongoing dedication to making LED more accessible to more customers.
- Planar DirectLight Essential Series: Announced last month, the fine pixel pitch LED video wall line is designed with Chip-on-Board (COB) LED technology, offering high pixel density, energy efficiency and exceptional durability to support an array of high- traffic environments. The new solution is well-suited for budget-conscious customers who require high-quality imagery. Delivering deeper blacks and sharper visuals with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio and high refresh rate of 3,840Hz, Planar DirectLight Essential Series supports incredible visual performance for indoor environments with abundant ambient light. The series also features a proprietary driver integrated circuit (IC) specially built to mitigate issues related to brightness and color uniformity. The 27-inch cabinets are available in 0.7, 0.9, 1.2 and 1.5 millimeter pixel pitches. Planar DirectLight Essential Series customers also benefit from popular Planar DirectLight Essential Complete display configurations for effective, hassle-free video wall deployment.
- Planar DirectLight Pro Series: The upgraded solution will make its InfoComm debut. Now featuring MicroLED technology, the new and improved line of fine pixel pitch LED video walls offers customers a wide color space and deeper blacks for improved video performance. A new high brightness model features exceptional efficiency of power to brightness with 2,000 nits and 135 watts, making the solution ideal for maximum performance in high ambient light environments. A low power model offering 500 nits of brightness with only 68 watts of power consumption is also available for energy-conscious customers or applications with low ambient light conditions.
- Planar DirectLight Slim Series: Uniquely designed for unique spaces, the innovative fine pixel pitch MicroLED video wall display line joined the flagship Planar DirectLight portfolio in February. The new solution delivers an ultra-thin, narrow width form factor to accommodate curved and space-constrained applications.
- Planar DirectLight Ultra Series: The award-winning solution presents the finest pixel pitches and high performance for the most refined applications. Featuring Planar ActivAlign proprietary self-adjusting alignment technology and Planar Remote Power Supply with redundancy, the premium line of ultra-fine pitch MicroLED video wall displays enable high visual performance over time, delivering always-on, impactful, high resolution display experiences.

Featuring a 16:9 wide aspect ratio and 3,000-nit brightness, the industry-leading outdoor LED video wall can be configured to perfectly match Full HD and Ultra HD resolutions and supports viewing from as close as eight feet. Models are available in 1.3, 1.6 and 2 millimeter pixel pitches with front-service ruggedization with Glue-on-Board (GOB) technology for added durability.
- Planar UltraRes L Series All-in-One LED Display: The easy-to-use, best-in-class fine pitch display can be quickly assembled with only two people and powered using a single 110V cable. The Full HD resolution all-in-one MicroLED display features on-board processing, audio and multiple inputs to support simultaneous viewing of up to four content sources as well as 10-point IR touch technology for enhanced collaboration. Customers also benefit from 109, 122 and 136-inch sizes and wall mount or rolling floor stand options, offering flexibility to accommodate permanent or mobile installation needs. This flexibility is now enhanced with heigh-adjustable kits by BalanceBox, which enable optimal display positioning and mobility for users.
- Planar WallDirector Portfolio: The industry-respected platform will present best-in-class display control and management with the Planar WallDirector Video Controller, Planar WallDirector OS management application and new and award-winning Planar WallDirector Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) display fleet management application, as well as pixel-level error detection capability. Planar WallDirector Cloud allows users to remotely manage their Planar LED and LCD displays and hardware from a centralized location, offering more detailed insight into their display health and performance as well as enabling them to identify when service or repair is needed.
