Nureva Adds Coverage Map and Camera Switching to HDL310 System

Nureva has introduced new coverage map and automated camera switching capabilities for its HDL310 audio conferencing system, expanding functionality designed for large meeting and learning spaces.
The update uses coordinate-based XY sound location data generated by Nureva’s Microphone Mist technology to show where voices are being picked up in a room. Through the Nureva App, IT managers and integrators can view a real-time coverage map, define camera zones, assign cameras or presets to each zone and monitor microphone pickup as conversations move around the space.
As participants speak and change position, the system uses sound location data to automatically trigger the appropriate camera, allowing remote participants to see who is talking without manual intervention. When a room layout changes, users can select a preconfigured room profile in the Nureva App, which applies the correct coverage and camera switching settings without requiring recalibration.
Traditional camera switching systems often rely on multiple ceiling or table microphones, extensive DSP programming and manual tuning that must be repeated when rooms are reconfigured. Nureva said the HDL310 takes a different approach by combining its built-in Microphone Mist technology with the INOGENI CAM230 multi-camera selector to localize sound and automate camera switching without additional microphones or complex programming.
The coverage map provides a two-dimensional view of microphone pickup points across the room, giving IT teams a way to validate audio coverage, adjust camera zones and troubleshoot issues using standard tools rather than specialized measurement equipment.
Nureva noted that its HDL410 system for extra-large rooms already includes these features and has been widely deployed in classrooms and meeting spaces measuring up to 35 feet by 55 feet. With this update, the same workflow is now available on the HDL310, which is designed for rooms up to 30 feet by 30 feet. The company said the alignment between the two systems is intended to give IT departments a consistent approach to camera automation across different room sizes.
“As Nureva continues to transform and simplify large-room audio, extending our coverage map and camera switching functionality to the HDL310 system is a natural next step,” said Nancy Knowlton, Nureva’s CEO. “These additional features will help our customers to create a more inclusive hybrid experience, where everyone in the room can be both heard and seen, without adding complexity to their AV stack.”
