Nureva Awarded New U.S. Patent for Microphone Mist Technology

Nureva Inc. has been granted a new U.S. patent for its Microphone Mist technology, the proprietary platform that powers all Nureva audio systems. The patent, issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), recognizes Nureva’s novel approach to combining in-room voice amplification with full-room microphone pickup for hybrid collaboration and learning spaces.

The newly issued U.S. Patent No. 12,342,137 covers the ability to use both a discrete microphone for amplification and a microphone array for whole-room pickup simultaneously within the same conferencing session. This hybrid capability allows a presenter or instructor wearing a wireless microphone to have their voice amplified for in-room participants while also transmitting that same audio to remote attendees via common UC platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

At the same time, Nureva’s array microphone continues to capture the voices of in-room participants so that everyone can be heard clearly by remote listeners. The system maintains active echo cancellation for both amplified and remote audio, ensuring clean, intelligible sound across all participants.

“This patent recognizes the uniqueness of our approach and the performance Microphone Mist technology delivers,” said Nancy Knowlton, CEO of Nureva. “Customers have asked for a simple way to amplify a presenter’s voice in the room while letting remote participants hear the full conversation — and we’re proud to make that seamless.”

By unifying amplification, pickup, and echo cancellation within a single system, Nureva’s Microphone Mist platform simplifies large-room audio configuration and supports consistent, high-quality performance for hybrid meetings, lecture capture and AI-assisted transcription.
