Two new high quality KVM extenders enabling DVI-D, USB keyboard and mouse, and RS232 functionality to be extended over 100m of CAT6 cable have been launched by UK audio visual company Smart-e Limited.

Using proven HDBaseT technology, signals can be extended over any type of widely used and inexpensive single CAT6 cable (STP and UTP) up to 100m. The two new products the SDX-Plus and SDX-2P can extend to a single display or dual display DVI-D signals respectively, both support up to 1920×1200 @60Hz digital video resolutions (WUXGA) or 1080p, whilst the SDX-2P can distribute two DVI-D displays each up to WUXGA resolutions.

The SDX range of KVM extenders have an extremely low latency, which make these products ideal for use in call centres, command and control, and post-production facilities where the PCs are installed in a secure, air conditioned central location with the users residing in another part of the building.

The units extend DVI-D, USB and RS232 whilst the SDX-Plus supports infrared and the SDX-2P has stereo audio. Both feature automatic DDC learning, are HDCP compliant and using HDBaseT technology distribute uncompressed digital video signals. The units are both compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
