New Q-SYS Networking Switches Compete with NETGEAR’s M4300 Series for AV-over-IP Networks

QSC introduces new Q-SYS Networking Solutions, including Q-SYS NS Series network switches and networking resources aimed at integrators doing AV-over-IP. Prior to this, the only purpose-built AV-over-IP was from NETGEAR in the form the M4300 Series.

QSC’s Q-SYS NS Series is a range of enterprise-grade, manageable 1/10GbE network switches that are pre-configured for the Q-SYS Platform but are compatible with existing AV-over-IP products including this from Crestron, SVSi and SDVoE.

Available in eight-port, 24-port and 48-port models, these Dell EMC network switches provide transport of Q-SYS audio, video and control, as well as AES67 and Dante audio streams simultaneously within the same VLAN, that according to QSC, don’t require any configuration to connect end-points. QSC also says they have been independently tested and verified by the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL).

For large enterprise installations that require a converged network infrastructure for a Q-SYS deployment, QSC has partnered with UNH-IOL, an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance services for the networking industries, to provide independent network switch qualification for the Q-SYS Platform.

Details on the Q-SYS Networking Solutions and QSC’s relationship with the UNH-IOL are here.
