New generation of medical display controllers to further improve diagnostic workflows

Barco
Kortrijk, Belgium, 29 June 2020 – Today, Barco launches a new series of medical display controllers. The MXRT-x700 series has been developed with the performance, longevity and workflow support required for diagnostic imaging workstations in mind.

Mick Grover, Product Manager for Display Controller Applications at Barco, says: “With a surge in the amount and complexity of cases, combined with a global shortage of colleagues, radiologists are in a constant search to increase productivity while lowering their workload and ergonomic stresses.”

As quality and compliance are vital and demanding, and images often come from multiple modalities, both in color and in greyscale, choosing the right technological solutions is vital to ensure a smooth workflow.

Mick Grover continues: “We’re excited to launch this new generation of Barco MXRT display controllers to support the productivity of healthcare professionals using our diagnostic displays.”

Increased performance

The boards support higher refresh rates and resolutions than their predecessors to ensure compatibility with evolving protocols and modality requirements. On top of that, their robust graphics processing engine will enhance your workflow with faster image loading.

Reliable longevity

The x700 series is released with long-term availability and lifetime in mind. Manufactured with robust hardware components and designed for optimal thermal control, the boards are ready for the challenges of a 24/7 extended use operation environment. A 5-year warranty and extended availability meets the needs of long-term equipment management and avoids frequent system reconfiguration.

Workflow support

The display controller boards all support Barco’s Intuitive Workflow Tools, which were developed to enhance the radiologist’s productivity, accuracy and ergonomics. Some of these tools have achieved regulatory clearance for their use as a medical device accessory. Paired with a Barco diagnostic display system, the boards guarantee the necessary performance and expected support for medical use.

4 new display controllers

The new series of display controllers consists of 4 cards:

The x700 series will come to replace the x600 series which is currently in use. The graphics cards can be bought separately, or in a system purchase as part of a full Barco diagnostic imaging system.
