Munich, 23 January, 2015 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has launched the MultiSync® X981UHD, a 98-inch 4K UHD display for heavy-duty business or commercial use. The professional display, which is suitable for applications such as control rooms, life-size digital signage, medical review, conferencing or creative multimedia design, provides four times the resolution of full HD, and upscales content with lower resolutions.

The latest addition to NEC’s range of large format displays offers features that meet a variety of business objectives. These include the SpectraView Engine, which provides full-featured colour management for ultimate image accuracy and consistency, as well as several modes for multi-source display operation, which offer the ability to display up to four sources side-by-side for ergonomic collaboration. The combination of high pixel density, full 60Hz refresh rate and sophisticated image stabilisation algorithms give viewers unrivalled image clarity.

Despite its robust metal back cover and supporting structures, the display weighs less than other products in the same category. The model, equipped with Direct-LED backlights, offers the complete list of well-known professional NEC features including intelligent thermal management, hardware LUT calibration and 24/7 reliability. It supports up to eight digital inputs, including one DisplayPort, four HDMI, two DVI-D and OPS. It also offers OPS Cable Free Expansion, meaning businesses can upgrade the power of the display at any time without the need for external cables or devices.

Operation of large venue installations is straightforward when making use of NEC’s free of charge Multi-Display Software Suite, NaViSet Administrator 2, which enables management of all connected display devices from a centralised location.

The combination of low power components, more recycled plastics and being free of hazardous materials, as well as several energy saving features and sensors, ensures that all 4K UHD products align with NEC’s Green Vision for sustainability and are as eco-friendly as possible.
