NDI and Zoom have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate NDI Advanced technologies across several Zoom product offerings, expanding AV-over-IP connectivity for meeting rooms, event spaces and broadcast workflows.

The integration brings NDI-enabled connectivity to Custom AV for Zoom Rooms, allowing organizations to connect NDI-compatible cameras, displays and other AV devices directly into Zoom meetings. The companies said the approach supports multi-camera and multi-display configurations while reducing latency and simplifying deployment across a wide range of spaces, including lecture halls, corporate studios, auditoriums, training rooms and large boardrooms.

By embedding NDI within Custom AV for Zoom Rooms, enterprises can move away from traditional hardware-based signal distribution in favor of network-based video and audio workflows. According to the companies, this enables greater flexibility for hybrid collaboration while maintaining reliability for in-room and remote participants.

NDI Advanced technologies are also being integrated into Zoom for Broadcast tools, which are used for virtual and hybrid event production. Zoom said the collaboration will enhance its Emmy Award-winning broadcast platform by enabling higher-quality video workflows and increased interoperability with existing production ecosystems. Event production applications within Zoom Webinars and Events, including ZoomISO and Tiles for Zoom, are expected to benefit from the NDI integration.

“The wide industry adoption of NDI technology and its plug-and-play approach makes AV-over-IP workflows more accessible than ever before across broadcast television, enterprise production, and content creation,” said Andy Carluccio, head of client innovation at Zoom. “We are excited to integrate robust NDI Advanced technology inside key Zoom products, offering a seamless experience that unifies NDI’s impressive capabilities and product ecosystem with Zoom’s innovative collaboration platform.”

The companies positioned the collaboration as a response to the increasing demand for adaptable collaboration tools in hybrid work environments. NDI’s software-driven, IP-based connectivity is intended to allow organizations to scale deployments at their own pace, whether equipping a single meeting room or rolling out standardized systems across a campus.

“Network-based connectivity opens a whole new range of possibilities for video and audio workflows,” said Miguel Coutinho, head of NDI. “Together with Zoom, NDI is bringing these new possibilities to collaboration set-up across the world – no matter the size of your organization.”

NDI said the integration allows communications teams, content creators and everyday users to bring multiple video and audio sources into Zoom meetings and events, supporting more interactive and production-oriented collaboration scenarios without complex installations.
