NDI support on Pearl-2 video production systems from Epiphan Video

Palo Alto, CA, March 13, 2019 – Epiphan Video, a leader in professional audiovisual capture and video production equipment announces they’re adding NDI® and NDI|HX support to the Epiphan Pearl-2 all-in-one video switching, streaming, and recording system.

Pearl-2 all-in-one video encoders are versatile AV solutions that promise easy professional results. Adding NDI is another step in our strategic commitment to offer IT friendly AV solutions, making Pearl-2 a smarter choice for enterprise communications, lecture capture, and anyone who wants to use their existing Ethernet infrastructure for AV.

NDI transports broadcast quality video with low latency over Gigabit Ethernet networks. No extra HDMI or SDI cables required. With NDI on Pearl-2, you get better looking video over longer distances in resolutions up to 4K. Pearl-2 accepts video and audio from a wide variety of NDI enabled devices and cameras on the network. It’s a lot simpler to incorporate two-way video conferencing into live presentations using Skype or any other third party application that supports NDI without having to use one of the HDMI inputs on Pearl.

“We’re excited to add NDI support to Pearl-2. It gives AV professionals better options to integrate Pearl more efficiently into a wider range of AV systems.” says David Kirk, Vice President of Marketing at Epiphan.

Simply connect Pearl-2 to your existing Gigabit Ethernet network. NDI support allows Pearl to be recognized instantly by other NDI resources on the network. Plus it’s just as easy to share the output from Pearl-2 with other NDI devices on the network. With 802.1x network security included, Pearl-2 integrates seamlessly into secure networks. You know you’re saving time and resources when set up is this easy.

Epiphan is also adding USB video and USB audio support to the popular Pearl Mini all-in-one production system in response to requests from many of their Pearl Mini customers. At the same time, support for RTSP inputs will added to Pearl Mini.
