NAB Opens Nominations for 2026 Technology Awards Recognizing Broadcast Engineering and Innovation

The National Association of Broadcasters has opened nominations for the 2026 NAB Technology Awards, honoring individuals and organizations that demonstrate excellence in broadcast engineering, digital strategy and technology development. Award recipients will be recognized during the 2026 NAB Show, scheduled for April 18–22 in Las Vegas.
NAB is accepting submissions across three categories. The Digital Leadership Award recognizes an individual at a station, group or network who has played a significant leadership role in advancing the digital success of a broadcast business. The Engineering Achievement Awards, presented annually for both radio and television, acknowledge industry professionals for notable technical contributions to broadcasting.
The Technology Innovation Award highlights an organization’s advanced research or development project in communication technologies. To qualify, the technology must be exhibited at NAB Show, demonstrate technical merit and not yet be commercialized.
“The NAB Technology Awards shine a light on the inventors, engineers and digital leaders who move our industry forward,” said Sam Matheny, NAB executive vice president and chief technology officer. “Each year we’re inspired by the creativity and technical expertise behind these nominations, and we’re excited to recognize the individuals and organizations whose work is reshaping how content is created, delivered and experienced.”
Deadlines for submissions vary by category. Nominations for the Digital Leadership Award and the Engineering Achievement Awards are due Jan. 27, 2026. Entries for the Technology Innovation Award are due March 9, 2026. Nomination forms, criteria and information on past recipients are available on NAB’s website.
