This year at CEDIA Expo, I had the opportunity to explore the audio demo rooms for the first time since joining THE rAVe Agency. As someone whose role at trade shows is typically focused on shooting videos, I often do not get to experience the products in their actual applications. I visited four demo rooms, each offering a unique experience.

Ascendo

My first stop was Ascendo’s demo room, which featured its full Ascendo speaker system. This system is designed to overcome the challenges posed by displays such as LED walls, which do not allow speakers to be placed directly behind them like acoustically transparent screens in traditional home theaters. Ascendo’s solution offers a speaker system that delivers high-performance audio without compromising sound quality. The demo room also featured Moovia’s LYON home cinema chair/sofa, combining comfort with functional design.

Seymour Screen Excellence

Next, I visited Seymour Screen Excellence’s award-winning demo room, which had earned recognition as the “Best of CEDIA.” This room featured Seymour’s adjustable ratio theater ART masking screen. What stood out was the ease with which the screen adjusted its aspect ratio, allowing for different screen sizes to fit a variety of content.

StormAudio

I then moved on to the StormAudio demo room, which showcased the ISR Fusion 20. This 20-channel processor integrates StormAudio’s cutting-edge processing and amplification technologies, providing remarkable sound quality with ultra-low noise and distortion levels. With its 16 channels of Edge Amplification Technology, this processor created a stunning surround sound experience.

Dynaudio

Lastly, I visited the Dynaudio audio demo room, where the Symphony Opus One Soundbar was showcased. This soundbar houses 22 drivers, three tweeters, 14 mid-range and full-range drivers and five woofers. The two standout features for me were Soundstage, which projected audio across different areas of the room, and DeepDive, which created a spatial audio experience for each listener, ensuring that every seat in the demo offered an immersive listening experience.

All in all, my experience in the audio demo rooms at CEDIA Expo was an exciting experience for me. It was a lot of fun finally seeing and hearing these products in a real application after spending so much time capturing them on camera.
