It’s five days into the New Year, and already it feels like Christmas was an age ago. I’m back in work sitting in the office, glancing at the remains of the tinsel stuck to my desk and I’m struck with that sense of sad realisation that it’s back to normal life. I sigh, sip my coffee and open my emails.

Hang on; I have twenty-odd emails full of Marketing/Social Media/AV news. Automatically I’m interested and absorb myself in all I’ve missed in the outside world since entering the ‘Christmas break’ bubble. Why am I bummed that it’s back to normal life? I love working in Marketing, and since starting at Smartcomm I have been exposed to a fascinating new industry. I spent the rest of today reviewing all I want to achieve this year in my role and for the company and arrived home this evening feeling very content.

It’s easy to lose yourself in worrying about opportunities that you’re missing or that time seems to be disappearing, but I’ve been fortunate to have been given some great opportunities in the past 12 months, and I am not going to waste a second more musing on what’s been and gone. Between blogging for rAVe, exciting projects approaching, a trip to Vegas and the Olympics heading to London, I am determined to appreciate and enjoy all that I have to look forward to.
