Matrox Video Releases New 1G AV-over-IP Encoders, Decoders

MatroxMatrox Video just announced that its Maevex 6152 quad 4K decoders and Maevex 6100 Series encoders can decode H.264/MPEG-4 and display up to four 4K streams of ultra-low-bitrate, 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 AV content over LAN, WAN or internet — with what the company says is as little as 50 milliseconds of latency. It’s a 1G AV-over-IP system.

The Maevex 6152 decoder features decoding support of up to four 4K streams, or many lower resolution streams, from a single stand-alone appliance. Users can address one or more streams per display by selecting from an assortment of preconfigured layouts for each screen. Combining with both Maevex 6100 Series encoder streams and industry-standard H.264 third-party encoder streams, Maevex 6152 makes it possible to create integrated decoding solutions. A Maevex 6100 Series encoder and decoder coupling supports every AV-over-IP scenario by pushing many streams over the LAN, feeding cloud-based servers, securely delivering encrypted streams across the internet and recording to any location, all concurrently.

Here’s a video of it:

The Maevex PowerStream Plus software management tool provides users with an assortment of drag-and-drop stream and layout selection options, along with previews for decoder output configurations. Included with all Matrox Maevex 6100 Series encoder and decoder products, Maevex PowerStream Plus facilitates complete control of all Maevex devices from a single application. Multiple APIs and SDKs are also available for rapid customization and integration purposes.
