Magewell Debuts Director One Production and Streaming Platform
Magewell has launched Director One, the latest addition to its all-in-one production system lineup. The new model builds on the features of Director Mini, adding an integrated 4G cellular modem and a dedicated HDMI output for enhanced connectivity and flexibility.
Like Director Mini, Director One combines multi-input switching, graphics, streaming, recording and monitoring in a single device. It supports both AV and IP inputs and offers multiple control options, including an integrated touch screen, the Director Utility mobile app, a web-based interface and third-party controllers.
Director One features a 7-inch AMOLED touch screen, which is over 25% larger than the Director Mini’s interface. The screen has 800-nit brightness and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio.
While Director Mini supports third-party USB cellular modems, Director One includes a built-in 4G modem and dedicated 4G and Wi-Fi antennas. Both models support wired Ethernet, Wi-Fi connectivity and network bonding technology through Magewell’s partner Speedify for improved connection stability.
Director One retains the same input capabilities as Director Mini, including two HDMI inputs, two USB AV inputs, HTML web page sources, file-based media assets, three mobile cameras and three simultaneous live IP sources. Supported IP sources include SRT, RTMP, RTSP, NDI High Bandwidth and NDI HX streams.
For output, both models support NDI HX, SRT and RTMP streaming, as well as USB-C for UVC output. While Director Mini’s USB-C interface can connect to an external monitor with an adapter, Director One adds a dedicated HDMI output. Both models also support recording to an SD card or built-in storage.
