Mackie is expanding its CR Series Multimedia Monitors, adding new models and a subwoofer to the line of compact nearfields. New to the CR Series is the CR3-X 3-inch, CR4-X 4-inch, and CR5-X 5-inch, as well as the Bluetooth-enabled CR3-XBT 3-inch, CR4-XBT 4-inch, CR5-XBT 5-inch, and CR8-XBT 8-inch models and finally, the CR8S-XBT Bluetooth-enabled Subwoofer.
The CR3-X and CR4-X are 50 watts, the CR5-X is 80 watts and the CR8S-XBT subwoofer is 200 watts. All models use all-wood cabinets, polypropylene-coated woofers, 0.75” ferrofluid-cooled silk-dome tweeters and specially designed waveguides for what Mackie claims is consistent sound dispersion across all frequencies at all levels.
The distinct front panel design features brushed metal panels, signature CR Green outline, with front panel access to on/off/volume control and a headphone jack. The speaker placement switch allows you to easily choose which side of your desk gets the volume control.
The new CR8S-XBT subwoofer has rear panel inputs and outputs that include 1/4” TRS and RCA connectors, as well as Bluetooth connectivity and streaming.
All CR Series Multimedia Monitors include acoustic isolation pads to minimize bass build-up and provide up/down tilt control for more focused listening, speaker to speaker cable, 1/8” to stereo RCA cable and 1/8” to 1/8” cable for connecting to smartphone or media player.
