Need an Outdoor or Window-Facing Display That Won’t Yellow? LG Has One — and UL Tested It
LG Electronics USA has launched a new line of high-brightness digital signage displays featuring anti-discoloration technology verified by UL Solutions. The displays are engineered to combat screen yellowing caused by prolonged sun exposure — a common issue for outdoor and window-facing installations.
LG says it is the first in the industry to receive UL verification for anti-discoloration in digital signage. UL independently assessed the displays using new LG-developed testing methods and defect-evaluation criteria. Until now, no international standards existed for measuring a display’s resistance to yellowing.
All models in the new line operate on webOS Signage 6.1 and include features designed for outdoor performance, including thermal solutions to prevent black spots, IP56-rated enclosures for dust and water resistance, and IK10-rated protective glass to guard against impacts.
The LG XE3P Series, available in 49-, 55- and 86-inch sizes, features FHD resolution (1,920 by 1,080) and brightness levels up to 3,500 nits. It uses M+ panel technology for high brightness with lower power consumption and includes automatic brightness adjustment based on ambient light. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support wireless content delivery, and integrated sensors support vandalism alerts and self-leveling during installation.
Designed for storefront and indoor-facing applications, the 75-inch Window Facing XS4P offers UHD resolution (3,840 by 2,160) and 4,000 nits of brightness. The 86XF3SK is an open-frame 86-inch UHD display with up to 3,300 nits.
