DALLAS, Oct. 16, 2015 – New video wall displays from LG Electronics featuring the world’s slimmest bezel to bezel design – less than 2 millimeters – are being demonstrated for commercial integrators at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association’s annual trade show this week in Dallas.

Featured in LG’s CEDIA Expo booth (#5306), the all-new VH7B series of direct back-lit LED displays is redefining the video wall category with an unprecedented bezel-to-bezel measurement of about 1/6th of an inch, allowing the displays to be connected seamlessly with each other.

“This creates a powerful, impactful video wall that becomes less a collection of panels and more a cohesive, continuous image that will create an engaging, immersive viewer experience,” said Clark Brown, digital signage vice president at LG Electronics USA.

A 2 x 2 video wall – composed of four 55-inch class 55VH7B displays – is the centerpiece of LG’s CEDIA Expo booth. It’s showing dazzling content highlighting the company’s expanded OLED TV category at aggressive new price points. (LG OLED is the Exclusive CEDIA Expo 2015 Partner.)

“We’re raising the bar for video wall displays, underscoring LG’s commitment to delivering Innovation for a Better Business,” said Brown, who highlighted a number of technological advances of interest to systems integrators and installers:

• Included software allows flexible configurations (up to a 15 x 15 matrix of 225 displays), while installation options become nearly limitless when married with third-party digital signage solutions.
• LG has achieved significant improvements in maintaining brightness uniformity across the screens, keeping the edges as bright as the center.
• To address the challenges of matching color and brightness across all panels, LG has incorporated factory calibration and efficient calibration tools that allow integrators to achieve an optimal image within 3-5 minutes per panel.
• Design improvements, including its light weight (20KG) and slim depth (87mm), allow for easier installation and maintenance.

The groundbreaking video wall display features LG’s “webOS for Signage” smart platform, which takes advantage of the built-in high-performance system-on-a-chip (SoC) that eliminates the need for an external media player, helping to reduce the total cost of ownership. LG’s webOS for Signage enables a variety of web-based applications across multiple platforms, as well as the ability to write applications using HTML 5.
