Leica Camera is entering the laser projection market with its own products thanks to a partnership with Hisense. The first model, the Leica Cine 1, has been making the beta-test rounds in the market but it uses laser light technology, and it uses a 0.47” DLP chipset — designed as a short-throw tabletop or mantel-mount projector.

The projection market is a familiar environment for Leica Camera AG. More than 50 years ago, the Leica Pradovit line was already part of the product portfolio, first as an analog projector and later also as a digital version. Based on the company’s level of innovation, many years of experience and know-how, combined with the highest demands on optical performance and image quality, the entry into the market segment of laser TV devices is the logical next step toward new business horizons.
